Sa Hunyo 30, 2010, may magiging bagong residente ang Malakanyang. Bagama’t mahalaga ang pagbabagong ito, marami pa ring bagay ang hindi magbabago. Patuloy pa rin ang pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin at ang paglubog ng marami sa higit na kahirapan.

Makikibaka tayo laban sa mga pagyurak ng karapatang pantao at pang-aaping pulitikal ng mga “warlords”, at buwagin ang mga “political dynasties” na umaalipin sa mga mamayan at naghahasik ng takot at pangamba sa mga taumbayan.

RAUL LAMBINO- was born into a poor family with no political persuasions or pedigree. His late father, Bonifacio Lambino Sr., was a retired government employee, who died in 1986. His mother, Leodegaria de Loyola, now an 87 year old lady, was a dressmaker and has served as the guiding light to her children. Raul is the fourth child and the second boy in a brood of five. The family lived in the humble town of Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, where the children attended their elementary and high school education.
Raul, who can speak fluently Pangasinan and Iloko languages, got his real education, and had grown as a person, in Baguio City. He worked and resided therein as a tailor, gasoline boy and driver of jeepney and taxi from 1974-1978.
During his younger years, Raul dedicated himself to fruitful education to achieve his dreams, coming from a simple yet loving family. He attended the University of Pangasinan in Dagupan City, during his college years where he graduated Political Science (Cum Laude) in 1981 and Law (Cum Laude) in 1986, and then passed the Bar Examinations in 1987. He left for Manila to work in the House of Representatives as legislative staff officer, then chief of staff, of Representative Jose De Venecia, Jr. of the 4th Congressional District of Pangasinan from 1987 to 1991. Through his dedication and due diligence for public service and politics, he became chief of staff of Senator Loren Legarda in the Senate of the Philippines in 1998 to 2000.
Probably the toughest challenge in his early Manila stint came during his neophyte years as a lawyer. He established his law practice in Metro Manila where he hurdled the barrier of being a graduate of provincial law school, a feat that very few lawyers in the Philippines have done, to establish a niche and earn the respect of his peers in the legal profession. He is a known Constitutionalist of the country and reviewer of political & remedial laws.
For him, “it does not matter at all where one has been schooled; what matters only is how one has been educated”.
Raul is married to Marilyn De Guzman of Bauang, La Union and Mangaldan, Pangasinan. The couple is blessed with three wonderful children, namely: Mark Ronald, a graduate of Geography at the University of the Philippines and a successful businessman; Mary Rhauline, a graduate of Economics (Cum Laude) at the University of the Philippines and now sophomore at the UP College of Law; and Meryllainne Rhacquel, a third year Political Science student at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.

Mindanao group backs Bello’s bid
A MULTI-SECTORAL group in Mindanao said Tuesday it is endorsing the senatorial bid of former Justice Secretary Silvestre Belo III, saying he is in a good position to contribute to peace there.
“It is time we had a senator who truly understands the complexities of peace-building in Mindanao, and we are happy to strongly endorse fellow Mindanawon, justice and peace advocate Bebot Bello for senator in 2010,” Kusong [Strong] Mindanao said in a statement.
“Bello can contribute to a more meaningful discourse in the formulation of a national peace policy bill that would institutionalize the peace process to include the creation of a Permanent Peace Commission,” said Eliseo Mercado Jr., a priest and head of the group.
He said Bello was his comrade in BAYAN Mindanao during the Marcos regime.
Mercado said Bello, former head of the government panel negotiating peace with the communists under President Fidel Ramos, had proposed the inclusion of all stakeholders in the peace process. He believed that peace-building should not only be between the government and rebel forces but should involve all affected sectors.
Bello, an activist against Martial Law and human rights violations, was himself a victim of injustice during the martial law years and was jailed for offenses that had not been proven, Mercado said.
