In the 2007 elections, among 27 local and national candidates, John Carlos JC de los Reyes was the lone winner of the Ang Kapatiran Party, placing second among ten slots for the Olongapo City Council. This was achieved despite a decade absent from local politics.
John Carlos JC de los Reyes free legal assistance program under an informal project named JUSTICE CRUSADE has been widely successful among his constituents. He is presently prioritizing the institutionalization of the Barangay Human Rights Action Centers, the office mandated by law for the protection and prevention of human rights violations in the barangay.
As councilor, de los Reyes has spoken out and campaigned against illegal drugs, rampant violations of worker’s rights at Hanjin, Subic Bay and has campaigned against illegal fish cages in the area. He has also led protests against the proposed coal power plant and has been outspoken in criticizing government’s plan to open more casinos in Subic.
The boldest statement he has made for good governance is the filing of numerous cases before the Ombudsman against high ranking government officials where he himself is complainant. This is in line with his political policy of alleviating the people’s suffering by addressing the problem of expensive and increasing costs of basic needs like water, electricity, medicines, health care, etc., and insuring that these basic services are kept free and far from graft and corruption.

though i won’t vote for him, i still can see his sicerity in public service… one of the best… his fight against rh bill is what i admire… i’ll just say that it’s kinda premature for him to run as a president though he has the potential…

Palagay ko alam naman nya na talo siya, stepping stone lang para maalala sa susunod na eleksyon. Baka target niya talaga ay maging senador sa 2016. Asahan natin na tatakbo susunod na eleksyon as senator. Councilor to Senator, not bad. Councilor to President, too big a leap. Well, I lost the right to vote since I adopted another citizenship but still interested in the Phils affairs.
What the country needs is a young, energetic man full of dreams and ideas. I wish one day I will hear a positive news about the Phils.
For me, JC De Los Reyes is a good man, God-fearing person, what I can tell is that He must be strong to face all these criticisms that people is telling to him, these people dont know anymore how to elect a good leader because they are so blinded by their own ideas, and they favor more on the popularity of the person. they are not thinking of a good and holy future, what they want is pleasure and money. after all everyone will response in hte eyes of God. if you will give your vote to those candidates who are in favor of abortion and contraceptives knows that it is againts the will of God and you are responsible of your deeds. Vote God and judge no one, who are you to judge your neighbor?
For JC courage and trust in God, even Jesus was not recognize as the Son of God, our days is an evil days, people think no more of God but the power of the enemy. God bless you and your family, even if you will not win we are still supporting you.
